Introduction

Subject Networks

At our recent Group Leaders' meeting, we discussed the subject networks and agreed that we should remind the membership of their existence and of how useful they can be, not only to group leaders but to any member of U3A.
As the list below will show, there are now networks for 28 subjects. Each one is administered by a network co-ordinator, who keeps a list of network members, communicates on a regular basis, usually by means of a news letter and is available to give help to anyone with an interest in his/her particular subject. From time to time, the group co-ordinator may be involved in the organisation of a group leaders' meeting or may run a study day. What we now call our Summer School originated as Subject Network Study Days; the members of our U3A who have taken part in these will tell you of their usefulness. Anyone with an interest in the subject may join a network. (Our Groups Co-ordinator also has a list of co-ordinators' addresses).
